Recent research shows there is no evidence of increased risk of breast cancer in women with Lynch Syndrome

A recent study conducted by the American Society of Clinical Oncology was completed and showed no evidence of increased risk of breast cancer in women with Lynch Syndrome identified by multigene panel testing. The has been an on-going debate within the field.

In this large cohort of women with LS identified through panel testing, there was no evidence for increased risk of breast cancer compared with the general US population or women undergoing panel testing. These findings support average-risk breast cancer screening in women with LS.

An interesting editorial was also written in response to the study.
